Sheep wool pellets

Low-grade wool that industry does not buy is pelletised as garden fertiliser.

Sheep wool pellets release nitrogen slowly and retain water in the soil. Depending on its form, the wool has to be shredded before pelletising, and the line is small, from 100 kg/h.

A pellet line for this raw material

Two lines to start from, and below them the production stages: which ones this raw material needs and which machines do the job.

  1. Feed hopper needed

Takes in the raw material and feeds it evenly into the line.

Feed hoppers with a screw discharger (V-shaped walls), Feed hoppers with a slat scraper (vertical walls)

  2. Grinding it depends

Depends on the form of the material; we assess it on a sample.

    Hammer mills

  3. Drying not needed for this material

The material is usually below 15% moisture, so no dryer is needed.

  4. Pelleting needed

The heart of the line. For this material: selected after testing a sample.

    Granulators

  5. Cooling it depends

Needed from about 200 to 250 kg/h. It can be skipped with big bags, not with small bags.

    Coolers

  6. Screening needed

A drum or vibrating screen separates dust from the finished pellets.

    Drum screens, Vibrating screens

  7. Packing your choice

15 kg bags, big bags or bulk, depending on the buyer.

    Packaging systems

  8. Transport between stages needed

Belt and screw conveyors connect the machines into one line.

    Belt conveyors, Screw feeders, Redlers

  9. Control cabinet needed

Controls the whole line, also remotely from a phone.

    Industrial automation

Test your raw material before choosing a line

Send a sample and see what pellets we can make from it. We test the material on our pellet mills and give you recommendations on the die and the choice of machines.

  1. You fill in the request, we call back and agree how much material to send (usually 2 to 3 bags).
  2. We pelletise it on the test line in Sieradz; you are welcome to watch.
  3. You receive a pellet sample and a report with a recommended die and line set-up.
The test is free for companies considering a WALW line.
